Just Catching Up…

Hello, everyone! It seems like it’s been FOREVER since I’ve been in touch with friends discussing, crying, and laughing over books. I sure miss those days! I didn’t have a chance in 2015 to pick up a book…at all! I’ve been extremely busy and exhausted.

After being a stay-at-home mom for several years, in September, I finally returned to work. I work as a Medi-Cal Specialist (other states besides CA know it as Medicaid). The training alone was intense! Now that I have my own caseload, I definitely feel overwhelmed since it’s so demanding. Then, during the first week of January, I joined a weight loss challenge program. I’m proud to say that during those six weeks, I lost 23.4 lbs. Immediately after, I joined the program once again. Every weekday, I get up at 4:15am to hit the gym, then rush home to get ready for work, after work…it’s time for my second job…dealing with my kids and husband. Needless to say…I’m drained with absolutely no energy to write. Lately though, I’ve regained the motivation to continue writing and finish Pin Me, the third and final book of the Pinned Up trilogy.

To be honest, Pin Me was almost done several months ago, but after certain things changed in my life, I decided to change the story also…drastically. So, I started rewriting Pin Me from scratch. That’s part of the reason for the delay. I’m praying to have it all done and edited by the end of May so the paperback can be available in June.

I have a book signing in San Francisco on June 11th, my birthday in which I’ll be dreading the 18th annual anniversary of my 21st birthday. I haven’t celebrated my birthday in several years because I truly hate it (although I love celebrating everyone else’s b-days). I usually get depressed around that time for whatever reason, but this year, I’ve decided to put my birthday in the back of my mind and enjoy the book signing itself. I’m sooooo excited to meet so many great authors and readers! I’ll be buying books and making up for 2015 when I didn’t have the chance to read anything. So, once my third book is completed, I’m making it a point to read a minimum of 2 books per week. I CAN’T WAIT!!! I felt it was necessary to explain the delay with Pin Me because…well…I felt guilty for coming across as such a flake! Every goal that I have set for myself, I have accomplished, with the exception of my trilogy. Not having the third book completed has been sitting heavy in my mind. I’m anxious to finish the story and hopefully hear/read positive feedback.
